If you find yourself in this situation over the December holidays -- i.e. spending a lot of time sitting in an airport, you might want to sit near a WIFI "hot zone" to take advantage of these two web sites:

The Online Books Page from University of Pennsylvania

The Literature Network

Both have full-length novels, short stories, poetry and serials that are free to read anytime, anywhere. The only down side is that the books are not downloadable, so you will need to stay connected the whole time...

I am new at Rio Hondo. Is there a WIFI hot zone at Rio Hondo College?

Yes, there is wireless access on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the library. The best place on the 2nd floor is near the shelves of the back issues of periodicals; the best place on the 3rd floor is just outside the Gallery (there's a couch next to the book shelves). Your computer should detect the guest network and log you on automatically, but some people have had problems...
