Are you one of the many people who think you should have learned - or be learning - another language? Here is a web site that contains audio lessons you can listen to every time you're on the computer -- fsi-language-courses.com

The courses were developed by the Foreign Service Institute of the U.S. government and are all in the public domain. Don't expect any flashy presentations or gimmicks - this is a utilitarian web site run by volunteers who love languages. So far, the languages include:

Arabic, Cambodian, Cantonese, Chinese, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew,, Hungarian, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish, and Vietnamese.

Thanks to David for pointing out the web site!

If you find yourself in this situation over the December holidays -- i.e. spending a lot of time sitting in an airport, you might want to sit near a WIFI "hot zone" to take advantage of these two web sites:

The Online Books Page from University of Pennsylvania

The Literature Network

Both have full-length novels, short stories, poetry and serials that are free to read anytime, anywhere. The only down side is that the books are not downloadable, so you will need to stay connected the whole time...
